Studio E Bloom recently completed a custom mural design for a whimsical café located in Washington, DC. The project was inspired by the café’s existing brand identity, allowing us to bring its charming, imaginative atmosphere to life through hand-painted wall art.By incorporating signature elements that loyal customers already associate with Simona’s brand, the mural adds a cohesive and enchanting visual experience to the space.

The Mural Process
After meeting with the restaurant owner and learning about his deep passion for the brand, I began developing concept sketches for a custom mural that would reflect the space’s natural, inviting energy. The design featured hand-drawn leaves trailing organically throughout the restaurant, helping to guide the flow of the space.
To ensure the colors aligned perfectly with the brand identity, I brought the brand’s palette to Sherwin-Williams for professional color matching. I started by blocking in the greenery across the walls, gradually layering in detailed brushwork to bring the mural to life. As a final touch, I hand-lettered the restaurant’s logo on the back wall, with each leaf in the mural pointing subtly toward it—drawing attention and creating a cohesive visual journey.
This mural showcases how thoughtful, hand-painted artwork can transform a restaurant interior while reinforcing brand identity through custom design.
